I’m Jamie, a software developer from Southern Ontario, working to build the best life possible for myself and my beautiful family. Together with my two fantastic children, my phenomenal wife, and our old cat Lily (who undoubtedly thinks we are guests in her house), we navigate this winding path called life.
As someone “middle-aged”, I have some life experiences under my belt, but that doesn’t stop me from feeling time slip away. It’s become clear that the moments I wish to savor – time with loved ones, the pursuit of passions – are too often sacrificed for the constant cycle of earning a bi-weekly paycheque.
So I’m starting this blog as a way to document the path I take and hold myself accountable, I suppose – to build a future where time is not traded for money. Here, I’ll chart my course towards achieving a level of passive income that can provide the financial freedom I’d like.
But financial goals aren’t everything. My journey extends beyond just money. I have three overarching goals:
- Develop diverse passive income streams that release me from the confines of a traditional “job.”
- Foster better habits around saving money.
- Cultivate a deeper sense of gratitude for this wonderful life and continually strive to be the best version of myself.
I believe that this journey to financial freedom is as much about personal growth as it is about wealth accumulation. After all, what’s wealth without the wisdom to appreciate it?
